Jill Ferguson and Rose Ann Martinez founded the dance team in 1992, and over the past 25 years, the team has shed the title of the “Owlettes” to become the Rice Owls Dance Team. From the very beginning, the team has choreographed and performed their own dances at basketball games, and has recently expanded to performing at football, basketball, and volleyball games as well as many other athletic events.
